Antique pewter pulls and knobs are a beautiful emphasis to give kitchen cabinetry, and some of them even feature an oil-rubbed bronze highlight.
By using a copper or bronze finish on die cast metal, you can inexpensively get the look and feel of much more expensive copper hinges! Some hardware uses other mediums in their hardware. These may include ceramics and glass. As far as hinges are concerned, many people choose to work with real copper hardware.
They’re crafted from materials such as wood, ceramics, and plastics. For an uncoventional style, consider sculped cabinet hardware, which can be made to look like anything from shells to lizards. There are a myriad of other whimsical imagery also possible. Other designs are hand-distressed, giving them the old-fashioned look of classic Americana appeal. For a more modern look some people prefer pulls and handles that have incorporated granite in them.
You might choose cabinet hardware that needs to be pushed in order to open. Push plates can be very decorative, and may be a better choice than pulls or handles in this case.
