Priest Leveling Guide For The First Few Levels
The Priests are the main healers of any group, although those who have chosen the path of the Shadow deal impressive damage as well. Large groups remain to be their prime arena however for there, they truly shine. They do great in soloing too since their talents can help with fast leveling. If you’re a priest and want to know how to get done with the beginning levels of the game really fast, this is the Priest leveling guide for you.
{Priests Defined}?
The priest, although mainly considered as a healing class, can fill plenty of roles in a group. Priests, no matter the spec, can do impressive tanking, solid DPS, and healing. If you’re a Holy Priest, you will shine in groups thanks to your multiple target heals although you will also perform quite impressively in soloing since you are capable of dealing offensive damage. Alternatively, you also have at your disposal the best single target heals via the Discipline Priest route.
{Initial Leveling}
All Priests begin in their starting two with two abilities – Smite, a ranged attack, and Lesser Heal, a healing spell. As you progress through the first three levels, you can earn enough gold to buy your first buff that could you could use to display some friendly gestures with your fellow start ups. You’re on your path to becoming a popular character.
In the next two levels, you will be able to learn how to use your first DoT spell, the Shadow Word: Pain. You will then have enough time using your new DoT spell along with your old ones. As you move through the next two levels of the game, you will be given the Power Word: Shield.
At the next two levels, levels eight to nine, you will get a new DoT spell called the Renew and spell for aggro threat reduction, the Fade. Both are very useful once you start doing some raids. Take note to use these when there’s a Priest from an enemy group as this helps with eliminating the threat coming from that player. At level ten, you will have your first powerful ranged attack spell called the Mind Blast and your first resurrection spell, called Resurrection.
{From Level Ten Onwards}
You will gain your first talent point after reaching level ten.
You could use this immediately to enhance one talent on your talent or keep it until you are able to decide which talent tree to take.
As a priest, you get to choose between three talent trees – Shadow, Holy, and Discipline. Each of these dishes out specific abilities and talents which are very useful for creating a specialized character.
You can go the Holy Priest route if you’re seeking to be a healer. This tree gives you some of the best healing spells, buffs and debuffs in the game. If you want to create a DPS Priest, you’re choice should be the Shadow tree. For the best single target healing in WoW, you can go down the road of the Disciple tree.

The choice of tree is really up to you. Although this Priest leveling guide suggests that for you to have faster leveling, you might want to first try rolling a Shadow Priest, which is by far the easiest way to get to the level cap.
