Shaman Guide – Advantages And Disadvantages Of Using The Shaman
This Shaman guide was made to orient the player to the fun but complex role that the Shaman plays in WoW. So what exactly are the Shamans?
The Shaman in the World of Warcraft is a hybrid damage dealer that possesses an assortment of attributes and could play simultaneous roles. The Shamans could play as the healer, as the fighter and could create damage to groups even from a distance. They serve very versatile roles in the game. Behind all these, the Shamans are not really particularly superior to the other characters. The attributes of the Shaman are much more appreciated as their powers are built overtime. The Shaman, for example, could fight well but not better than the warrior. It can’t heal faster than the Priest or fight well from a distance like the Warlocks. As standalone character in the game, the Shaman is ideal due to the combination of attributes. It is very important to have a Shaman by your side as the game progresses as its abilities are increased.

{The Totem} – Of all the characters in the World of Warcraft, only the Shaman uses the totem and these totems could only be had after completing certain quests. There are various totems that a Shaman acquires and the totems are based on the race that was chosen; the totems have their own potencies and could spell a good amount of damage when the proper totem is selected. When the totem is engaged, the Shaman will only be on a motionless position, its spell then only affects those that are within the totem’s range. What appears to be a disadvantage though could be offset as the Shaman could use up to four different totems with different attributes at the same time. Caution should be observed while the Shamans’ abilities to use the totem is being developed. How the talent points that were earned are to be spent defines the Shaman’s attributes and could very well affect the results of the game. The flexibility of the Shaman will be greatly affected by focusing in one tree as the other areas of attributes may later be found lacking – this always affects the results of the game. In developing the attributes that you want for your Shaman, you may want to take on a strategy first as this will affect the Shaman’s abilities especially during the end games.
{Spells} – The Shaman’s spells are based on the nature. Used soundly, it could cast weapons buffs, healing and damage.
{Talents} – The Elemental talent is used for offensive improvements. The development of this talent then is when you want your Shaman to gain maximum damage output and critical strikes.
The Enhancement talents are used for ability during melees and totem enhancements. Because mana is not used in casting spells during the earlier stages of the game, this is a preferred mana talent when only starting. As the game and the abilities advance, there are other very dominant weapons that could be learned if not earned.
Restoration talents are for healing and restoration. Multi-level heal spells though could be obtainable to the Shaman as the game progresses and as more talents are earned.
During the earlier parts of the game, the Shaman is usually the least appreciated of all WoW characters. This is usually so as the Shaman is somewhat a ‘jack of all trades’ that lacks particular depth at any one role. This Shaman guide then could be of help as the Shaman’s role becomes more and more appreciated as the game progresses where they could actually be valued.
