Magic The Gathering Deck Knowledge
Magic: The Gathering is a game created by mathematics professor Richard Garfield. It was released in 1993 and has quickly drawn an enormous following of 6 million players in more than 70 countries. The game utilizes three basic kinds of decks. They are defined as aggro, control and combo. The aggro decks do damage. They try to lower their enemy’s lives from 20 to zero as quickly as possible. Control decks slow the game and gradually wear down their foe. They use slower, mightier cards to devalue their opponent’s cards. Combo decks use the power of the combination of two or more cards to either defeat the other player quickly or put themselves in a place to win sooner
There are a number of combination decks and strategies which can also be utilized to win Magic the Gathering. Some players play with aggro-control decks. These decks utilize aggressive creatures and control elements to control the pace. This strategy sets them up to use quick threats, light permission and disruptive maneuvers in order to overcome. Other players emplay midrange strategies to control the early rounds and win during the mid rounds using large creatures as very effective threats. They control the earlier rounds by disrupting the aggro and combo decks and attempt to win by using large powerful creatures that can completely own in the middle and late rounds.
Another highly effective strategy is the use of a control-combo deck. These decks allow for the use of control strategies early in the game and the combo cards to quickly finish off a foe. Using aggressive creature cards along with a combination of different cards to win with one strong turn is called Aggro-combo. This strategy calls for attacking with creatures, making some sacrifices and then killing the enemy. One of the strongest decks is Aggro-Control-Combo decks. They use creatures to cause damage, disruption elements and a powerful combination of cards to end the game.
